GOD'S POWER PART FIVE IV - HOW TO TAP INTO THIS POWER

FOUR: BY THE MINISTRY OF THE WORD
There is a friend of mine whom anytime you decide to agree on anything, he always tells you to put it in writing. Whenever you have a complaint and you go the police they will always take a written statement from you to be used against the one you are accusing in the court of law. Although verbal contracts are enforceable in law there must be credible witnesses to back them up, but written contracts will probably not require much. This is the power of a written word, you get to effectively bind yourself with the words that you have written more than the words you had said since the said words can be denied, but you cannot deny written words.
To show Gods seriousness whatever he did or wanted to do he always put it down through a host Prophets and Servants. Everything is put under one book, The Bible. This is Gods word and power comes from hearing and hearing this great word of God. Do you want to know God, then you do not have an option but to read and understand his word, this is the only way out. God wrote this Bible through inspiration to his great Servants who wrote on wide range of life topics that God intended his children to follow and exercise so that they can inherit his kingdom. The word of God is life itself and spirit in itself; we tap into Gods power by reading his word. John 6:63 “It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.” The word of God is God himself John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” God gave himself to us through his word. God uses his word to save humankind from all afflictions of life Psalms 107:20 “he sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from destruction.”
What is in the word of God?
The word of God is the carrier of His power, it carries Gods wisdom, 2 Timothy 3:15 “and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings that are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.”
The power of sent word
God spoke to his people by sending his word through Prophets, Luke 10:1 “After this the Lord appointed seventy* others and sent them on ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he himself intended to go.” So until you receive the sent servant you cannot receive the sent word. He also sent his only Son Jesus Christ, so God ministers to us by sending his word, we saw that the word of God is full of spirit which is the carrier of God’s power, and whenever we receive the word of God we receive his power. Access to Gods word is our greatest assets in our daily journey. Even today God still has his servants into our modern day church, your Pastor or any Servant in your Church who preaches to you this word is sent by God to deliver his word, you receive God’s blessings by receiving and hearing his servants. Mathew 10:41 “Whoever welcomes a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward; and whoever welcomes a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive the reward of the righteous;”

Nature of Gods word
God word caries internal life and healing, John 6:67-68 “So Jesus asked the twelve, ‘Do you also wish to go away?’ 68Simon Peter answered him, ‘Lord, to whom can we go? You have the words of eternal life.”  Proverbs 4:20-22 “My child, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. 21 Do not let them escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. 22 For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh.”

GOD'S POWER PART FIVE III - HOW TO TAP INTO THIS POWER

THREE: BY PRAYERS AND FASTING.
We want to seek the power and glory of God; we must earnestly seek him through prayer and fasting. In psalms 63:1-3 “A Psalm of David, when he was in the Wilderness of Judah.1 O God, you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land here there is no water. 2 So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. 3 Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.” David earnestly sought God. He really was thirsty for Gods attention.
You must have right attitude when seeking God through earnest prayer from your heart then he will release power for your positive outcome. James 5:16-17 “Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective. 17Elijah was a human being like us, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth.”

The woman with the issue of blood confessed from her heart “if I touch only his garment” you must earnestly expect the outcome full of faith Mark 5:28 “for she said, ‘If I but touch his clothes, I will be made well.”
The prayers must be from our heart. We should actually wholly pour our hearts. 1 Samuel 1:15 “But Hannah answered, ‘No, my lord, I am a woman deeply troubled; I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but I have been pouring out my soul before the Lord.”
Do not corrupt your heart; be vigilant lest you corrupt the heart for you will corrupt the results Proverbs 4:23 “Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.”
Prayer is the spiritual switch for which we open the flow of power. Until asking is there you cannot receive power. Zechariah 10:1 “Ask rain from the Lord in the season of the spring rain,
from the Lord who makes the storm-clouds, who gives showers of rain to you, *the vegetation in the field to everyone.”
You are born again but you stir up the flow of power through prayer. John 1:12 “But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God,”
You need the help of the Holy Spirit for you to dwell in prayer. Prayer is an adventure and the only way to have genuine taste of Christian faith. You actualize your destiny through spiritual channel by prayer.
Prayer is a medium for spiritual empowerment, supernatural empowerment; hence you get command over situations in your life.

Fasting
In Matthew 4:1-2 “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2He fasted for forty days and forty nights, and afterwards he was famished.” Fasting is a spiritual weapon to guarantee us victory in every battle. Jesus was to fight temptation of Satan, and he needed spiritual weapon in which to fight with. It’s not a religious affliction.
Fasting is a spiritual catalyst in prayer, Isaiah 58:6 “6 is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?” fasting helps loose the bonds of injustices, oppression, and breaks every yoke. Fasting is a form through which God desires to polish your life.
In Matthew 6:16-17 “And whenever you fast, do not look dismal, like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces so as to show others that they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. 17But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face,” it’s a covenant obligation for every believer to fast. We are commanded to put fasting into our life program as a spiritual exercise to loose the part of wickedness in our lives, destiny, business and careers.
In John 15:7 ‘If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” For effectiveness in prayer and fasting God wants us to abide in him, let his words abide in us. We shall see the ministry of his word in our next topic.

How do we benefit if we pray and fast
We are filled with Gods power. In Luke 4:14 “Then Jesus, filled with the power of the Spirit, returned to Galilee, and a report about him spread through all the surrounding country.” After fasting for 40days Jesus returned filled with Holy Spirit to start his mission.
We are guaranteed access to revelations of God, in Jeremiah 1:11-12 “The word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘Jeremiah, what do you see?’ And I said, ‘I see a branch of an almond tree.’* 12Then the Lord said to me, ‘You have seen well, for I am watching* over my word to perform it.”
The yoke of sin and death is destroyed.
You are guaranteed glorification in your life. Isaiah 58:8 “Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly; your vindicator* shall go before you, the glory of the Lord shall be your rearguard.”
We have speedy answers to prayers, Isaiah 58:9 “Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry for help, and he will say, here I am. If you remove the yoke from among you, the pointing of the finger, the speaking of evil,”
We are guaranteed access to divine guidance. Psalms 23:1 “A Psalm of David. 1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” Also Isaiah 48:17 “Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the Lord your God, who teaches you for your own good, who leads you in the way you should go.”

GOD'S POWER PART FIVE II - HOW TO TAP INTO THIS POWER

TWO: BY PRAISE, FELLOWSHIP AND SERVING GODS KINGDOM.
In Matthew 4:10 Jesus said to him (Satan), ‘Away with you, Satan! For it is written, “Worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.” We are commanded to worship and serve God only, nobody else. In Exodus 20:5 “You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me,” our God is a jealous God he will definitely punish us up to fourth generation. If we do not want to leave a permanent curse not only to us but to our four generations. There is great joy in those who serve. We contact his power to overcome all challenges that may afflict us and also we flow in his abundance.

Fellowship is a friendly association with other to whom you share a common interest. Children of God will come together to share views, pray, read and interpret the word of God, you are in the same grouping sharing the same ideals and beliefs.
A place of fellowship is where we encounter divine strength and help. Psalms 20:1-2. “To the leader. A Psalm of David. 1 The Lord answers you in the day of trouble! The name of the God of Jacob protect you! 2 May he send you help from the sanctuary, and give you support from Zion.”
A place of fellowship is where we encounter total deliverance. Obadia 17 “But on Mount Zion there shall be those that escape, and it shall be holy; and the house of Jacob shall take possession of those who dispossessed them.”
A place of fellowship is a place of unity and blessings. Psalms 133:1-3 “A Song of Ascents. 1 How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity! 2 It is like the precious oil on the head, running down upon the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down over the collar of his robes. 3 It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion. For there the Lord ordained his blessing, life for evermore.”
The essence of your deliverance is for you to serve God. In Exodus 9:1 “Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Go to Pharaoh, and say to him, “Thus says the Lord, the God of the Hebrews: Let my people go, so that they may worship me.” God was not doing this to the children of Israel for anything else; he gave them all this power so that they may worship him. Remember that God is a jealous God he will curse those who do not worship him Exodus 20:5 “You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me,”.  God is very happy when you worship him. Serve God and your life will never be the same again.
How do you profitably worship God?
Serve God from the Depth of your heart and you will receive blessings even to your generations. Ephesians 6:8 “knowing that whatever good we do, we will receive the same again from the Lord, whether we are slaves or free.”
Seek God diligently from your heart. Without faith it’s impossible to please God. Hebrew 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, for whoever would approach him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
As God’s Stewards you must serve Him faithfully. 1 Corinthian 4:1-2 ”Think of us in this way, as servants of Christ and stewards of God’s mysteries. 2Moreover, it is required of stewards that they should be found trustworthy.”
Serve God joyfully and cheerfully, if you do not do it that way then you are serving the enemy. 2 Corinthian 9:7“Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.’
Serve God willingly, you should not be forced or coerced into serving him. Exodus 35:29 “All the Israelite men and women whose hearts made them willing to bring anything for the work that the Lord had commanded by Moses to be done, brought it as a freewill-offering to the Lord.”
Isaiah 1:19 “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land;”

Serve God with tirelessly do not shrink back.  Hebrew 10:38 “but my righteous one will live by faith. My soul takes no pleasure in anyone who shrinks back.”  Galatians 6:9 “So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.”
Serve God because in every labour there is profit. In Proverbs 14:23 “In all toil there is profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.”
You will gain profits in form of:
Enjoying divine health and healing. Exodus 23:25 “You shall worship the Lord your God, and I* will bless your bread and your water; and I will take sickness away from among you.
You will enjoy divine deliverance. Daniel 6:20-22 “When he came near the den where Daniel was, he cried out anxiously to Daniel, ‘O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God whom you faithfully serve been able to deliver you from the lions? 21Daniel then said to the king, ‘O king, live for ever! 22My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths so that they would not hurt me, because I was found blameless before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no wrong.”
You will enjoy divine prosperity. Job 36:11 “If they listen, and serve him, they complete their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasantness.
You will enjoy divine fruitfulness. Exodus 23:26 “No one shall miscarry or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.”
You will enjoy distinction. Malachi 3:17-18 “They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, my special possession on the day when I act, and I will spare them as parents spare their children who serve them. 18Then once more you shall see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.”
You will become honored. John 12:26 “Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. Whoever serves me, the Father will honour.”
You will live long. Psalms 91:16 “With long life I will satisfy them, and show them my salvation.

GOD'S POWER PART FIVE I - HOW TO TAP INTO THIS POWER

A colleague I used to work with was so funny. Any time we used to plan something He would not leave out this question “what in it for me?” In the law of contract for the contract to be legally binding there must be what we call consideration this is the monetary value of the whole contract, there must be give and take. We do not expect God to grant us all these favours without us doing something in return, we must give back. In Exodus 20:5 “5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;” God is a Jealous God, you cannot do anything you want and expect still God to bless you. Likewise like in the law of contract this gift of power cannot be acquired by money Acts 8:18-20 “18And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,19Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.20But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. See verse 20, the gift of God may not be purchased with money.

So what is the form of this cost?
ONE: BY LEADING A CONSECRATED LIFE.
Dictionary meaning – sanctification, dedication. This means living a holy life. Well some people may ask, how can you live a holy life, in Job 1:1-3 1 “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.2And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.3His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.
See, Job was very very rich, he had anything a man could desire, yet he was very holy and upright. Contrary to today’s world where Ninety percent of rich people are related to very shrewd business practices until a popular belief holds that you cannot be rich until you engage in evil business practices, for business people you must adjust your scale to rob your customers, you must evade taxes, for employees you cannot make it until you involve yourself in funny dealing to swindle your employer, drivers, do you have to bribe a police officer.
Living a righteous, a pure dignified life has become a thing of the past yet this is the one condition that God wants us to fulfill for us to tap into his power, wow what a challenge. This is where most of us fail in the first place.

How can we make God to be proud in our lives like in Job 1:8 “And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?”  Wonderful, God could even boast to Satan, he would ask” have you seen my servant Job” see, he could even give a testimony about Jobs life “that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?” can you imagine God giving a testimony about your life, we must fulfill this condition if we really want God to give us his power to face today’s world challenges.
Consecration indicates that you have fear of God in all your dealing, look at the life of Noah; he was the only person in the face of earth who could please God, and for that God spared him from the floods. Genesis 6:9 “These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.” Noah walked with God, do you want to walk with God? Be righteous in all your dealings.

How do we get into living a consecrated life?
Study the word of God and pay attention to the word of God.
We will see the power of the word in our next series – HEALING POWER

Exercise your willpower to say no to sin.
In James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” You have the power to resist devil.
In Genesis 39:9 “There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” Joseph resisted King’s wife he fled from evil, he resisted sin.  In Romans 6:12-14 “12Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.13Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.14For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” Let sin therefore not reign in our bodies, nor yield to instruments of unrighteousness.

Exercise covenant reasoning
In Isaiah 1:18 “18Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Though you are a sinner God can review his covenant with you. Yes you stand a chance to reap from these benefits through Christ who died for our sin. Remember we said for you to be filled with the Holy Spirit who is the custodian of God’s power you have to be born again, that why Jesus is telling us “come and let us reason together.”

What are the rewards of leading a Consecrated life?
You will attract Gods power
This is the essence by which you lead a consecrated life. In Psalms 45:6-7 “6 your throne, O God,* endures for ever and ever. Your royal scepter is a scepter of equity; 7you love righteousness and hate wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions;

Glory, honour and exhaultation will be your daily testimony.
In Genesis 41: 37-45 the proposal pleased Pharaoh and all his servants. 38Pharaoh said to his servants, ‘Can we find anyone else like this—one in whom is the spirit of God?’ 39So Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘since God has shown you all this, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. 40You shall be over my house and all my people shall order themselves as you command; only with regard to the throne will I be greater than you.’ 41And Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.’ 42Removing his signet ring from his hand, Pharaoh put it on Joseph’s hand; he arrayed him in garments of fine linen, and put a gold chain around his neck. 43He had him ride in the chariot of his second-in-command; and they cried out in front of him, ‘Bow the knee!’* Thus he set him over all the land of Egypt. 44Moreover, Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no one shall lift up hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.’ 45Pharaoh gave Joseph the name Zaphenath-paneah; and he gave him Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, as his wife. Thus Joseph gained authority over the land of Egypt. Joseph was elevated (exhaulted)  to wine and dine with the king, not only that he was made the prime minister in a foreign land.”
Even pharaoh testified in verse 38”can we find anyone else like this one in whom is the spirit of God”, you get to stand out of the others and you are exhaulted. Joseph due to leading a consecrated life was made a ruler in a foreign land, can you imagine that, God can make things happen even when the contrary proves possible.

You will be bold in what you do
In Proverbs 28:1 “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.” You will have confidence in all you endeavor; you will be bold as a lion. A lion is considered the king of the jungle due to its boldness and the zeal that it does about its activities in the wilderness, without fear. You know that you are protected by the most high God.
In Psalms 92:12 “The righteous flourish like the palm tree, and grow like a cedar in Lebanon”. You will have all round fruitfulness in all spheres of life.

GOD'S POWER PART FOUR - ESSENCE OF THIS POWER

Let’s ask ourselves, why do we need this power? When Jesus was ascending to heaven he told his disciples, I will not leave you alone, I will send you a helper. Why to help you because alone you cannot face the challenges of this world. Through Holy Spirit we need this power to:
To fulfill our mission on Earth

With the Power of spirit Jesus returned to start his mission. Note he needed this power so that his mission here on earth can be fulfilled .In Luke 4:14-18, “And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”  See also Acts 1:8.” But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Jesus was telling his disciples that its only after receiving this power through the holy spirit that they will be able to fulfill their mission of spreading the word.
It does not matter what your mission here on earth is but you need Gods power for you to fulfill it.
For protection and preservation
In Psalms 105:13-15, “When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people. He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
15Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.”
Touch not mine anointed, anointed with Holy Spirit, you are accorded protection and preservation, your family will not be harmed, your business will not be harmed, and your mission on Earth will not be harmed. He reproved kings for their sake, he will reprove all manner of obstacles on your way as you fulfill your mission here on earth See also 1Peter 1:5, “Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time”. Who are kept by the power of God – you will be preserved.
For victory over battles of life
In Luke 10:19, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Behold I give you Power to tread on all life challenges, terminal ills, family breakups, financial difficulties and all manner of life threatening challenges.
Your mission here on earth will be victorious. We are guaranteed of victory in every battle. See also Psalms 66:3 “Say unto God, How terrible thou art in thy works! Through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.”
To command dominion
In Psalms 110 ” 1The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.2The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.3Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.4The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.5The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.6He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.7He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.
See verse one “until I make thine enemies thy foot stool” dominion over your enemies, they will be no match to you, you will rule in the midst of your enemies. Your mission here will flourish in the midst of your enemies, your family, business; career will flourish in the midst of your enemies. You will command dominion over them.
To preserve the blessings of God in our lives
In Psalms 112: 1-9, “1Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.2His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.3Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. 4Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.5A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. 6Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. 7He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.8His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.9He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.
See verse three “and his righteousness endureth for ever.” Your blessing will be preserved.

GOD'S POWER PART THREE - WHO IS THE CUSTODIAN OF THIS POWER

When you are born again you become an anointed of God, that is you become like God’s messenger delivering His glory all over. How do you do this, you are filled with the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit carries Gods power, so any time Holy Spirit comes upon you, you are filled with God’s Power.
In Luke 1:34-37, Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?”, And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy offspring shall be called the Son of God. And behold, even your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age; and she who was called barren is now in her sixth month. For nothing will be impossible with God”.
When we are filled with Holy Spirit, we derive:
Power to Conquer – When Jesus was ascending to heaven he told his disciples I will send you someone to comfort you, someone to guide you, afterwards all disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit, and this is the power we are talking about. In Mathew 10:1 “and when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease”. This power helps you to conquer against all manner of challenges.
Also see Psalms 66:3, “Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee”. Your enemies will submit themselves unto you.
Power to Comprehend – gives you revelational responsibility through spirit of wisdom. What are we saying Holy Spirit give you power to see what coming, thing that you expect will be revealed unto you. In John 16:13 “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”, Also see Psalms 45:5-7, Romans 11:33O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!”
Power to manifest – meant to display your son ship. When you are born again we said you are filled with the Holy Spirit and you become Son of God. So the moment you receive Jesus Christ you receive the power to become a Son of God. In John1:12, “But as many as received him, to them gave he gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”. This power makes you to enter in realm of manifestation Acts 10:38, “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power; how he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.”

GODS POWER PART TWO - MEANING OF THIS POWER

WHAT IS GOD’S POWER
The power of God is that ability and strength whereby He can bring to pass whatsoever He pleases to do. Power brings to life that which God desires to do, whatever his infinite wisdom pleases to do. As holiness is the beauty of all God’s attributes, so power is that which gives life and action to all the perfections of the Divine nature. Without power His mercy would not be effective, He would not be able to manifest himself to our daily lives. God’s power is like Himself: infinite, eternal, we cannot comprehend; it can neither be checked, restrained, nor frustrated by anyone.
God has powerful wisdom and mercy to remove all our miseries; a powerful justice to lay all misery upon offenders, a powerful truth to perform his promises, an infinite power to bestow rewards and inflict penalties. Thus God's power gives activity to all other perfections of his nature.
Power belongs to God, that is, solely. In Psalm 62:11 “Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God,” He  grants this power to people; what he acts by them, he could act himself without them, and what they act from themselves, is derived to them from him. Thus God can works through men, (he grants us this power that is he acts through us with his power), for to be omnipotent is to be God. Omnipotence is essentially in God.
Ephesians 1:19 “and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power for us who believe, according to the working of his great power.”. No creature can imitate God in this power.

God’s Power in Genesis

The earliest revelation of God’s power is seen in the creation of the world in which we live: Romans 1:20. “Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made. So they are without excuse;” Throughout Scripture, the creation of the world is cited as a compelling testimony of the power of God.
In Psalm 18:1-2, “1 I love you, O Lord, my strength.  The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” David praises God for His strength, strength in which he can take refuge. David was in great distress, and God rescued him.

God’s Power
In delivering children of Israel from Egypt

After having first displayed His power at creation, God’s second great demonstration of power is seen at the Exodus,
In Exodus 5:1-2, “Afterwards Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, “Let my people go, so that they may celebrate a festival to me in the wilderness.” 2But Pharaoh said, ‘Who is the Lord, that I should heed him and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, and I will not let Israel go.”
The nation Israel praised God for the power He displayed in delivering them from their bondage in Egypt even after Pharaoh’s resistance and hard stance. They confessed that their deliverance proved God power and that they were now confident on their journey ahead.

The Power of
God in sending His only Son Jesus Christ our Savior

In Isaiah 9:6 “For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his houlders; and he is named Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.” God was called the “Mighty God”. God’s power manifested by virgin Mary being pregnant “by the power of Holy Spirit”.
Our Lord’s power was evident through the many miracles He performed. The people were awe-struck by the evidences of His power:
Jesus power to heal was in order to show that His power extended to the forgiving of sins Luke 5:17-26.The greatest demonstration of our Lord’s power was His resurrection from the dead:

God’s Power
in the Lives of His Servants.

Let us consider the way God’s power transformed the lives of several men in the Bible.
In the life of Abraham. In the early days of his life, Abraham did not have confidence in the power of God. He made his way to the land of Canaan in obedience to what God had commanded him. In Genesis 12:1-3. “Now the Lord said to Abram, ‘Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. 2I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. 3I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” But when a famine came in the land, he could not wait for God who put him into that land to manifest his power and save him and his family. He made his way to Egypt, and this did not go down well with God.
He did not believe God’s power was sufficient to enable him and his wife Sarai to bear a son because they were getting old, and Sarai was barren. So he followed easier ways, first by adopting his servant’s son, two through his wife’s maid Hagar. God purposed to produce a son in a way that would demonstrate His power, by miraculously producing a son in their old age through a woman who had been barren all her life.
The great test of Abraham’s life came when God called him to take this son, and sacrifice him Genesis 22:1-19. Here, Abraham was set to obey God, he had faith now that the power of God will resurrect his son. He was convinced of the power of God to resurrect his son from the dead. By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac. He considered that God is able to raise him even from the dead. We see that God is able and Abraham had a resurrection faith in him. We are supposed to emulate that. The faith in Abraham is manifested by increasing belief in the power of God. Abraham, who began with little faith in God’s power, grew to have great faith in the power of God.
In the life of David. His faith in the power of God diminished over time. He had great faith at the start of his life but it diminished with time. First, he is ready to do battle with Goliath, the giant who arrogantly spoke blasphemously against God. David was confident, and through faith in God he knew he could kill this Giant of a man by just using his sling. In 1 Samuel 17:33, 36-37, Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are but a youth while he has been a warrior from his youth , in verse 36 “Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, since he has taunted the armies of the living God.” David said, “The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said to David, “Go, and may the LORD be with you”.
We later now when David was the king, the failer on his part to go to war with his troops. In both cases, Israel was at war. He stayed home. And the result was he ended up in bed with his soldier’s wife and instead of repenting he went ahead to cover up by having the same soldier killed in the battle. Here we see his diminishing faith in the power of God.
In the life of Daniel. In Daniel 6:16, “Then the king gave the command, and Daniel was brought and thrown into the den of lions. The king said to Daniel, ‘May your God, whom you faithfully serve, deliver you!” The life of Daniel and his three friends, recorded in the Book of Daniel, provides yet another example of the way faith in the power of God made men to be victorious on wicked rulers of this world. When Daniel refused to cease praying to his “God,” the King cast him in the lion’s den. Daniel had belief in God’s saving power, and surely he was saved from lion’s den. The last words of the King before he left Daniel in the den of lions overnight expressed his hope that Daniel’s God might deliver him and surely he was right. Likewise, in Daniel 3:14-15 it was through the faith of Daniel’s three friends in the power of God that Nebuchadnezzar came to make a similar confession. Nebuchadnezzar had a great golden statue set up before which all men were to bow in worship when prompted by the king’s musicians. Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego refused to bow down to this image, infuriating the king who made this threat. They were cast in raging fire. It is secondly an expression of submission on the part of these men to the will of God, which may be to deliver them from the fire or to deliver them through a fiery death. In fact, God delivered these three men in a way they could never have imagined. Rather than keeping them from the fire, He brought them through the fire, alive, and without as much as the smell of smoke on their clothing Daniel 3:27. “And the satraps, the prefects, the governors, and the king’s counsellors gathered together and saw that the fire had not had any power over the bodies of those men; the hair of their heads was not singed, their tunics* were not harmed, and not even the smell of fire came from them.”  Nebuchadnezzar was soon to learn yet another lesson concerning the power of God compared to his own “power.” He discovered that his “power” had been given to him by the God of all power. After God humbled him and took away his power, he came to his senses and issued these words for us to hear and heed:

Conclusion

No one who takes the Bible seriously can deny the power of God. God is omnipotent; He is all-powerful. This truth transformed the lives of men in the past, and it can transform our lives today.
